Floral wax is the solid, fragrant, creamy wax derived from flower petals. Carefully selected flower heads are placed in solvent to first obtain the concrete and absolute. 

The concrete is then washed with alcohol to extract the absolute from the botanical material leaving behind the natural solid plant waxes.

 These waxes hold many of the benefits of the botanical including the moisturizing phospholipids.

Floral waxes are used to add color to creams, solid perfumes, lotions, soaps, and candles.

It lends thickness and a beautiful aroma to your end product. 

This excellent high melt point Floral wax can be used in Lipsticks, Lipbalms, Salves, Balms, creams, lotions and other cosmetic and personal care products.

Absolutes are also natural essences. They are usually essences of flowers which are too delicate to be extracted by steam distillation. Absolutes have the fragrance which resembles the essence of the flower more closely than the essential oil since some components of the essential oil are artefacts of the extraction process.

The preparation of the absolute is a two stage process. Stage one involves extraction of the plant material using pure hexane. This produces a thick oily, way fragrant product called a ‘Concrete’. The Concrete is then mixed with Ethanol and after thorough mixing it is filtered to remove the insoluble waxes. The ethanol is removed from the essence by distillation under reduced pressure. The essence left behind is called an Absolute.

Its physical properties is 

Pale-yellow - yellowish-brown liquid, contains 7-15% aldehyde and 55-65% total alcohol. 

Characteristic citronellal-like smell, a well rounded lemon citrus scent . The main constitutents include geraniol (18-20%), citronellol (6.4-8.4%), citronellal (5-15%), geranyl acetate (2%), limonene (9-11%), and methyl isoeugenol (7.2-11.3%) .
