Gandhi's Talisman

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man [woman] whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him [her]. Will he [she] gain anything by it? Will it restore him [her] to a control over his [her] own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj [freedom] for the hungry and spiritually starving millions?

Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

- One of the last notes left behind by Gandhi in 1948, expressing his deepest social thought.

ALLLURED HINDFRAG PERFORMANCE-PAGES STATICS

Life styles and emerging market trends in India

In India since liberalization of the economy there is rapid change in life styles. There is a very global trend but there is good impact of local culture as well.

India's affluent who constitute some thing like 3-4 percent but some of them are so well off that they can make Forbes lists too demand special services.

These are consumers who like to collect and also celebrate occasions in a special way.

Weddings and Diwali are special occasions that created demand .

Collectors like collectors items - sort of special editions like antics and boutique type products.

Event management for weddings and theme weddings are equally getting popular. Some photographs are shown here- a rolls collection, a theme wedding of special royal style and a collector's item .

The youth segment is growing. Many market research companies are spending sums trying to understand this segment. They have done what is known as ,Mind Mapping to know their full profile and segment them .

The kid segment is also very rapidly changing. They now are rich guys who have plenty of pocket money and wish to make their own decisions on how to spend that money-it could be a greeting card for a valentine or strawberry sundae.

They are familiar with brands and can identify the car brands easily from a mile/Km distance.

The senior citizens are also changing their life style - they don't save as much as they use to do, they shop on line, watch cricket matches, tour and go for wild life observations and religious cum physical exercise tours , and take infinite care of their health and physique in gyms, health spas resorts and Yoga and nature cure places.

The upper middle income is growing rapidly. This constitutes a very attractive market. Here too there seems to be a need to display their wealth. They buy expensive dresses, visit expensive restaurants and tour in holidays.

Aromatic Plant contract Cultivation -Lemon citronella oil,Rosemary oil,Davana oil,Lemon grass oil,Basil Oil,Mint oil- india scope having at tamil nadu

Agriculture and Industry have been conventionally viewed as separate sectors in respect of their characteristics and their role in economic growth.

India is predominantly an Agriculture economy and food production accounts for 26% of India's GDP .

Agriculture accounts for more than 60% of employment.

Agriculture has been growing at 3.3% compared to Industry's 7.5% a year.

India stands second in Fruit production after Brazil and also second in vegetables production after China.

Thirty three million tonnes of fruits and 70 million tonnes of vegetables are produced in India with a global market share of 11% and 17.5% respectively.

The fruits and vegetables are processed to an extent of 1 to 2% in India, compared to 70 to 80% by the developed countries.

The Government of India is offering many incentives for the food processing industries treating it as a thrust area.

2. 79% of rural population contribute to the development of Agriculture.

The urbanization process has resulted in migration of rural people to the urban areas for non-farming activities.

Tamil Nadu is the second most urbanised State next to Maharashtra.

The inequilibrium between the industrial and agricultural wages causes unrest and frustration which manifests in the form of societal violences. The expanded urban markets require agriculture products especially fruits and vegetables in a fresh or in a processed form.

3. Tamil Nadu with its different agro climatic regions is historically well suited to produce different varieties of fruits and vegetables in large quantities.

Around 5.5 million tonnes of fruits and 5.7 million tonnes of vegetables are grown in 4 lakh hectares in Tamil Nadu.

However, due to inadequate linkages with markets, fruits and vegetables produced in abundance during seasons do not realise the value for the farmers.

There are a large number of intermediaries who deny value to both farmers and consumers. Inadequate linkages also lead to loss of large quantities of fruits and vegetables.

Fragmented land holdings, lack of capital, poor infrastructure, inadequate information dissemination are the main constraints which can be overcome by a cohesive system with strong linkages among research, infrastructure, private sector and the farming community through contract farming system for the production and marketing of fruits and vegetables in the State.

Industries engaged in Food processing have been very keen to undertake large scale Horticulture crop production either through their own farms or leased land.

Thanks::::)Tamil Nadu -Agro Processing / Food Industry in the State report.

We Invite Contract Farming Offers
We own 100 acres prime land with full infrastructures, interconnected wells, intricate system of pipelines with drip facility . We are interested in concrete "contract farming" proposals of high end crops of short term to medium term nature.

CITRONLEAA OIL-INDIA,WHOLESALES ,RETAIL AND MANUFACTURING PRICE

Citronella oil is one of the industrially important essential oils obtained from different species of Cymbopogon.

The oil is widely used in perfumery, soaps, detergents, industrial polishes, cleaning compounds and other industrial products.

Citronella Oil is classified in trade into two types: Ceylon citronella oil which is extracted from Cymbopogon nardus .

The main difference between these oils is the proportion of geraniol and citronellal.

The high proportion of geraniol andcitronellal in Java type oil makes it an important source of various derivatives like citronelloland hydroxycitronellal, which are extensively, used in compounding high grade perfumes.

Citronella oil can be extracted from the leaves of the plant by steam or water distillation.
The demand for citronella oil has been affected by synthetic isolates produced from turpentine oil and the oil from Eucalyptus citriodora.

There is still a widespread preference for citronella oil because of its unique olfactory and stable technical properties, which are vital in blending perfumes and compounding industrially important essences.

COSMETICS SECNARIO IN INDIA

The Indian Cosmetics Industry is undergoing rapid evolution and transition following liberalization. It has matured considerably during the last decade. Although economic slowdown all over the world had proved a major handicap for big players but it did not affect the overall growth in the industry which was estimated to be in the range of 15-20%.

With globalization, there have been changes in many areas viz. upgradation, competition, brand image etc. On the other hand, cosmeceuticals and naturals emerged favourite segments for the consumers.

Today, the industry is gearing up for a new phase in its growth, according to market analysts.

The overall Indian personal care market has the potential to grow at 15-16% per annum and thereby double to US$ 8 billion (approx 40,000 crore) by 2012.

ESSENTIAL OILS AND PERFUMES

Global turnover of Essential Oil Industry business is estimated to around US$14 billion. In this turnover India’s share is just about 10% though potential is much more. Based on population ratio, the potential is estimated to be 18%. The lack of coordination is responsible for not exploiting the potential to the full extent. There are 400,000 plant species of both aromatic and medicinal plants known to the scientists. Of these about 2000 species come from nearly 60 botanical families of essential oils. Total production of essential oils in the world is over 100,000 tones. India’s share is estimated to be about 15%. This is almost stagnant for quite sometime due to a variety of reasons.
