World Earth Day falls on April 22 every year. Earth Day marks an annual effort to raise public awareness about the environment and inspire actions to clean it up. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. Earth Day is now celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.
